The Australian Chamber Orchestra is one of Australia’s most dynamic and highly regarded performing arts organisations. We are looking for a committed Production Coordinator to join our team.

ABOUT THE ACO

Led by its charismatic Artistic Director, Richard Tognetti, the Australian Chamber Orchestra is renowned world-wide for its inspired and courageous programming and unrivalled performances. The ACO collaborates with an extraordinary range of artists including the world’s leading performers, cinematographers, writers, and visual artists. In early 2026, the ACO moved to our new, purpose-built home on Pier 2/3 in Sydney’s Walsh Bay Arts Precinct, which includes a 277 seat Performance Space, Studio Space, Media Suite, and Event Space - an exciting new home for performance, presentation, community engagement and collaborative opportunities. The ACO’s move to Pier 2/3 has transformed the ACO on many levels after operating more than 20 years underground at their Circular Quay base.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The role works across the Artistic Operations and Technical & Production teams to ensure the technical facilities and services of ACO On the Pier are managed, operated, and cared for appropriately, and that all performances have seamless technical support. Duties include providing staging, and technical requirements for microphones, video screens and lighting for performances, rehearsals, events and other activities, preparing event briefing and technical documentation for casual technical staff, coordinating technical training sessions, troubleshooting problems with technical systems and maintaining protocols for equipment storage, lighting, audio and video.

TERMS

This is a full-time, permanent position based at the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s office in Sydney.

SALARY

Base salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 based on skills, knowledge and experience.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The successful applicant will meet the following position requirements:

· Minimum three or more years of experience in one or more areas of theatrical or event production such as lighting, audio, vision or similar;

· Ability to manage competing priorities within a busy work environment;

· Ability to perform manual labour, including but not limited to performing physically demanding duties, lifting and working at heights;

· Experience leading groups of casual technicians to complete projects safely and efficiently;

· High level of troubleshooting ability across multiple production areas;

· Works well under pressure and within deadlines;

· Stage Management experience;

· Demonstrated experience and interest in using and operating audio, lighting and vision consoles including but not limited to ETC lighting consoles, Yamaha audio consoles and Black Magic vision switchers;

· Mechanical and technical theatre systems experience;

· Ability to problem solve;

· Excellent customer service skills;

· High level of attention to detail;

· Demonstrated proficiency in using computers and computer software;

· Excellent communications skills;

· Experience in successfully building positive relationships with staff and stakeholders; and

· Experience with the performing arts.
