About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our Department of Law as the Head of Department (HOD). As the HOD, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the department and ensuring its continued success. Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing academic leadership and direction for the department.
• Overseeing curriculum development and ensuring it aligns with current legal trends.
• Recruiting, mentoring, and motivating a team of talented law faculty members.
• Delivering exceptional lectures and fostering a stimulating learning environment for students.
• Administering departmental activities, including budget management, scheduling, and student support services.
• Representing the department in college-wide committees and initiatives.
• Contributing to the department's research culture and encouraging faculty and student research activities.

Qualifications
• Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Law (preferred) or a Master's degree in Law with significant teaching experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or postgraduate Law level.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing academic departments.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
• Proficiency in legal research methodologies and contemporary legal issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
