Project Accountant (PERMANENT / DIRECT HIRE POSITION)
Location: Hartford, CT (Not Downtown)
Overview
Our client is a dynamic and well-established company in Hartford, CT, seeking a skilled Project Accountant to join their team. They pride themselves on a professional environment and commitment to excellence in all that they do.
The Project Accountant will play a vital role in supporting their project managers with various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in job costing, billing, accounts payable, reconciliations, and change orders, preferably in the construction industry or a similar field. This is a fast-paced position that requires an individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist project managers with job costing and budget tracking
• Prepare and process billing and invoices
• Handle accounts payable and ensure timely payments
• Perform regular reconciliations of accounts
• Manage change orders and lien waivers
• Support project managers with other general project accounting tasks
Qualifications
• Completed college degree (Required)
• Previous experience in a project accounting role, in a construction or related field (Required), 3+ years
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Required)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and professional environment
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
