Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA) is an award-winning, 150-person structural and civil engineering firm headquartered in Seattle for 105 years. We are seeking a full-time project accountant to play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and efficiency of our projects. This position works full-time from our downtown Seattle office.
Essential Functions
We are seeking a new accounting team member who will work closely with project managers, principals, and the finance team to ensure correct revenue recognition principles are followed, maintain the project information in the project accounting database, and provide accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will offer excellent customer service while multitasking and actively problem solving. This position requires meticulous attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Ensure accurate revenue recognition
Generate accurate financial reports
Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate client billing
Prepare and review invoices for completeness and accuracy before submission
Address billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a professional manner
Complete pay applications and other required documentation as needed
Enter and process vendor invoices
Complete account reconciliations
Assist with activities surrounding month-end close
Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
Resolve concerns and respond to questions related to invoices or other matters
Continually assess existing procedures and increase efficiency when possible
Perform additional general accounting tasks and special projects as needed
Location
This is an in-office position working from our newly renovated headquarters in downtown Seattle
Compensation
Wage Scale: $80,000 - $90,000 annually

Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating knowledge of accounting principles
High degree of professionalism
Ability to use discretion with confidential material
Organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing skills
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
Strong work ethic with positive attitude, and strong attention to detail
Ability to make decisions, analyze data, and provide solutions to problems
Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus
