This position is offered as a six (6) month contract/secondment opportunity with the possibility of extension.

THE ROLE

The Asset Capability and Assurance Unit is responsible for the assurance and coordination of the Asset Management Directorate’s activities across the asset management lifecycle, through the establishment, quality control and reporting of processes, systems and standards. The unit is also responsible for building and enhancing the skills, knowledge and abilities of all staff within the directorate, in addition to providing services contract management and administrative functions.

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Project Capability and Compliance Manager to build the capability of staff across the Directorate, through the establishment and continuous improvement of procedures and work practices, in addition to the coordination and delivery of inductions and annual learning programs.

The role is responsible for effective stakeholder engagement across internal and external partners to coordinate learning programs, maintain systems and deliver initiatives that strengthen governance, accountability and compliance standards.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position manages a team of project and compliance reporting resources who make meaningful and timely project reporting insights available for project delivery teams and management teams. Provides an internal project compliance function for the Asset Management Directorate’s projects and engages with stakeholders to ensure project expenditure is strategically-aligned. Leverages reporting capabilities to propose informed solutions to deliver value for money outcomes and improve resource use and allocation.

Leadership and management - Providing strategic advice. Managing, directing and motivating staff to achieve results. Maximising human, physical and financial resources. Managing reporting on and compliance for state-wide projects.
Analytical and conceptual - Managing research into technological change and policy formulation. Analysing implications of policies and procedures. Making informed recommendations for change and improvement.
Communication - Liaising and negotiating with a wide range of personnel, internal and external to the agency. Relating effectively with senior management. Providing a responsive and timely service to support agency expected outcomes. Applying organisational sensitivity and being customer focused. Developing effective client relationships.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

OTHER CONDITIONS

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.
