The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on
supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with
communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and
wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research. It’s all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.
About the role:
The Project Officer works as a member of a team within the Improvement Branch, which has responsibility for delivering large-scale health improvement initiatives across the health system, including the Safer Together Program, Mental Health Improvement Program and Medicines Formulary.
The role reports to the Manager, Core Team and will work closely with other team members and across the Improvement Branch to enable implementation of the Safer Together Program, as well as supporting the branch to deliver Safer Care Victoria's functions and vision.
About us:
Safer Care Victoria was established in January 2017 to ensure our health services are providing safe, high-quality care to patients: every time, everywhere. As well as monitoring the standards of care provided, Safer Care Victoria is partnering with patients, clinicians and health service managers to support the continuous improvement of health care.
About you:
A tertiary qualification in fields related to health administration, project management, public health, health care, paramedic, pharmacist, or allied health would be desirable.
An understanding of both the health sector or relevant government agency would be well regarded.
What we offer:
The opportunity to perform meaningful work, making direct contributions toward enabling Victorians to be the healthiest people in the world.
A wide range of growth and development opportunities within the department and wider Victorian Public Service & Sector.
A strong commitment to work-life balance, including a diverse array of flexible working arrangements.
