The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is seeking an experienced and high performing candidate to fill the role of Project Officer. Our ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can work flexibly across different areas and is aware of, or willing to develop an understanding of NHMRC’s research integrity and human research ethics frameworks, policies and procedures.
Please note this is a part time position and the successful candidate will be required to work 30 hours per week (negotiable).
Job specific duties
As the Project Officer, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Supporting ethics activities including registration, certification and monitoring of human research ethics committees.
Responding to ethics queries, including those relating to human research ethics and the Human Research Ethics Application (HREA), in consultation with other team members.
Supporting committee and working groups, including arranging meetings, preparing papers, writing minutes and following up on actions.
Undertaking routine research integrity processes including integrity checks, monthly reports, database management and updates.
Providing general administrative support to the section.
Core capabilities
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
The ability to work independently and collaboratively across the team under broad direction.
High level of organisation and excellent attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
The ability to critically analyse information to prepare relevant advice, reports, papers and other documents.
The ability, under limited supervision, to interpret, apply, and provide advice on government policies and procedures.
Location of role
The role is available in either Canberra or Melbourne.
