Job Summary
Seeking a Property Accountant who will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Accounting department. This position would be full-time, in-office with free on-premises garage parking and access to a fitness facility. The Property Accountant will report to the Controller. The annual salary range for this position is $55,000-$80,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
Accounts Payable:
• Review of property invoices for proper coding and support.
• Research outstanding invoices, communicate with vendors, and resolve payment issues.
• Generate and review AP report for check runs (twice weekly).
• Monitor and work closely with Property Managers to maintain updated vendor information (W-9, GL & W/C insurance).
• Reconcile monthly intercompany billing.
• Assist with year-end 1099 forms.
Accounts Receivables:
• Reconcile deposit log weekly.
• Enter and post non-tenant receipts.
General Ledger/Month End:
• Review general ledger for missed expenses and identify any material budget variances.
• Prepare and record journal entries.
• Reconcile accounting deposit spreadsheet with final property deposit log.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for property operating and money market bank accounts.
• Research stale dated checks not cashed after 90 days from issuance date.
Property Operations:
• Validate and process accounting security deposit statement for resident move out refunds and balances (per State guidelines).
• Provide support and direction for utility billing management.
• Oversee and assist with vacant utility accounts for bill back to residents.
• Prepare property replacement reserve request.
• Work closely with Property Managers and provide guidance on accounting related issues for the Accountant's designated 10-15 properties.
Other Projects:
• Assist Accounting Department with ad hoc projects, as needed or requested.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience
• Property accounting experience, preferred
• Experience with Yardi Voyager, preferred
• Experience with AvidXchange or a third-party pay platform, preferred
• Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
