A great UHY client is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team. This position will help book rental receipts and track equipment, labor, and properties expenditures. The Property Accountant will also help with insurance for properties.
The Property Accountant is an onsite, temporary position that will run at least 6 months with conversion to perm in the future. This is a client direct hire position.
Property Accountant Duties/Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned properties, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process for properties, monitor variances, and provide explanations for budget discrepancies.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices, monitoring payments, and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain property general ledgers, reconcile accounts, and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Assist with property tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain accurate rent rolls, track tenant lease obligations, and oversee rent billing and collection processes.
• Conduct financial analysis on property performance, evaluate trends, and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Coordinate with auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
Property Accountant Required Skills/Abilities:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3 years of experience in property accounting or real estate accounting.
• Ability to read and interpret accounting reports and business correspondence.
• High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
• Good time management skills with ability to set priorities and multi-task.
• Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products and Real Estate software.
• This position is working onsite in Shelby Township, MI
