About This Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Property Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting tasks to generate accurate and timely monthly financial statements for multiple properties.
Main Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reporting packages.
Maintain, review, and analyze general ledger accounts to support financial reporting processes.
Perform daily bank reconciliations and address reconciling items.
Monitor deductions related to mortgage, interest, escrow, and real estate tax payments.
Accurately calculate and post expense accruals.
Maintain amortization schedules and record accruals.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned properties.
Calculate annual operating expense and real estate tax reconciliations.
Process monthly property management fee calculations and post charges to the appropriate properties.
Ensure tenant charges are billed according to lease agreements.
Process tenant security deposit refunds as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the real estate industry.
Experience with Yardi Voyager and MRI software is a plus.
Familiarity with common area maintenance (CAM) expense reconciliations is required.
