What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Band 5 , PSO Workforce Planning officer, AUKUS Command.

The AUKUS Command is responsible for delivery of the AFP security overlay in support of the Australian nuclear submarine program under the AUKUS initiative. AUKUS Command also has strategic responsibility for delivery of protective security services to Defence establishments under the Defence MOU, with a significant focus on building and supporting a future-ready PSO workforce.

The role of Team Member PSO Workforce Planning supports the AFP in delivering Protective Service operational outcomes through effective workforce coordination and management. The position is located in Canberra ACT.

The AUKUS PSO Workforce Planning Team delivers operational HR and Workforce Planning advice and guidance regarding medium-term strategic and complex individual employee matters for employees aligned to the PSO Workforce.

As a Team Member in the AFP you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.

What will you do?

The PSO workforce planning officer role, Band 5 position sits within the Coordinator AUKUS Strategy structure and provides assistance in a range of HR related services to support AUKUS Command and broader AFP Protection Operation outcomes.

As a team member in the AUKUS Command workforce management team you will: • Provide accurate, innovative and timely advice on a range of general and complex workforce planning issues to inform decision making. • Facilitate all AUKUS recruitment activity and structure change requests to ensure that processes are compliant with AFP's recruitment framework • Provide advice and support workforce management strategies to maintain an affordable PSO Establishment • Develop & maintain HR reports • Assist in the management and implementation of commercial fee for protective service agreements. • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders • Manage ad hoc HR projects and priorities as required. • Advanced users of Power BI and Microsoft Excel will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements
You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one
Proven ability and desire to work in a fast pace, adaptive environment that responds to and supports an agile operational workplace
Minimum 2 years’ experience in human resources
Demonstrated experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
Desirable Requirements

The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:

Experience in SAP Production, SAS Firefly, Workforce management and data analytic reporting
In-depth knowledge of AFP governance including entitlements under the AFP Enterprise Agreement and relevant workforce Determinations.
Ability to adapt priorities and respond to urgent and ad-hoc requests
Ability to work dynamically and flexibly within a small team
Demonstrated attention to detail

This role is located in ACT and applicants are expected to be based in ACT.
