Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Purchase Manager specializing in packaging material procurement for our packaging company. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the packaging industry and experience in managing procurement processes. They will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality packaging materials while optimizing costs and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
• Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's objectives, ensuring a consistent supply of packaging materials while maintaining cost-efficiency.
• Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers of packaging materials, negotiating terms, pricing, and contracts to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Material Sourcing: Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, materials, and industry trends. Stay updated with the latest packaging technologies and materials to optimize sourcing decisions.
• Cost Optimization: Analyze pricing, negotiate bulk discounts, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or delivery timelines.
• Purchase Order Management: Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary guidelines. Track order status, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with internal stakeholders regarding delivery schedules.
• Quality Control: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to establish and maintain quality standards for packaging materials. Conduct periodic supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and maintain appropriate stock levels to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
• Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions, such as sourcing alternative suppliers or materials.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, invoices, and supplier performance evaluations. Generate reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and vendor performance for management review.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, warehouse, and logistics, to ensure seamless procurement-to-production processes and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Purchase Manager or similar role, preferably in the packaging industry.
• In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a track record of securing favorable terms and pricing.
• Proficient in procurement software and systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Salary Band: 3LPA - 3.8 LPA
