About the Role
We are seeking a human resources professional to join our team as our Bean Coordinator (accounting clerk).
The successful candidate will:
Create and implement firmwide accounting policies and procedures
Lead daily trust and general accounting reconciliation and coding
Draft, implement, and train on the firm's accounting policies
Lead monthly trust and general account reconciliations
Lead and manage trust accounting compliance and audits
Administer payroll, deductions, and taxes
Coordinate with the firm's external accountants for year end financial statement preparation and filings
Manage the firm's accounts payable and accounts receivables to ensure timely payments and maximization of available payment periods
Manage the firm's billing, trust to general payments, and collections procedures
Manage accounting records for firm in compliance with LSBC requirements
Manage accounting procedures for transactional work
Entry of payments into commercial online banking systems
Requirements
5+ years experience in accounting in law firm or other professional services firm environment
At least 3+ years experience in a law firm, and experience with trust reconciliation and audits with LSBC or equivalent regulator
Exceptional technological and artificial intelligence competency
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Exceptional emotional intelligence
Exceptional organizational, time management, and file management skills
Highly independent, accountable and self-directed
Demonstrated commitment to community service, ethics, and professional excellence
Experience with Clio and Quickbooks Online are assets
Compensation & Benefits
Part or full time negotiable
Salary: $35,832.26/annum (.6FTE) - $59,720.43 (1FTE)
Vacation pay for part time, paid vacation (3 weeks) for full time
Firm performance bonus
In office during probation, hybrid arrangements available conditional on performance
Regular office hours: 8:30am – 5pm; flexible working hour arrangements available after probation and conditional on performance targets being met
