Senior Quality Assurance Engineer :
The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer is responsible for conducting manual and assisting in automated testing. This person works in close collaboration with other members of the QA and Project Management team to perform testing for our educational technology platform and its online courses to ensure they are providing high-quality products. This person works with project managers to execute the QA strategy for the project. The QA is the team lead of podbased QA projects and is tasked with leading and mentoring Jr QA Engineers.
Responsibilities :
• Execute test cases from project initiation to course delivery based on previously agreed testing plan including performing manual course testing
• Lead the effort in maintaining and developing test cases
• Audits course development life cycle and updates test cases as needed
• Support other members of the QA team with additional projects as needed
• Execute the QA function by leading QA discussion at meetings with project representatives.
• Enter accurate, concise, and high-quality issues into issue tracking ticketing system
• Review issues entered into the issue tracking system by junior members
• Identify and implement solutions to QA ‘red flags’ during the course production cycle
• Verify course fixes do not introduce unintended modifications or unintended impact
• Interface with course developers as needed to ensure code modifications do not impact QA strategy and automation as applicable
• Identify key issues that may impact QA testing timeline or strategy and escalate as appropriate
• Assist in the replication of hard to reproduce bugs and troubleshoot as applicable
• Other job-related duties as assigned
Required Experience
• 6 years practical experience required testing software, games, or web-based applications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred or a combination of education and experience
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks in accordance to deadlines
• Ability to follow procedures and QA processes
• Automated testing experience preferred
• Working experience with JIRA or ticket tracking system preferred
• Experience with Confluence or similar collaboration system preferred
• Working experience using Git and GitHub preferred
• Previous experience with accessibility testing, WCAG 2.0 AA guidelines, Section 508 compliance is a plus
