Financial Controller | $280K–$330K + Super | Hybrid Flexibility

Gain Recruitment is partnering with a growing, well-established Australian business to appoint a Financial Controller in a newly elevated senior leadership role.
This is a high-impact position reporting directly to the Managing Director, responsible for leading finance operations, driving strategic decision-making, and overseeing a multi-disciplinary team across finance, HR and operational functions.
With continued growth and expansion, the business is seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller who can bring strong leadership, governance, and strategic financial oversight.
The business is based in Ballarat, however hybrid working is available, with travel to the Ballarat office required approximately 1–2 days per week depending on where the successful candidate is based.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
Lead budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
Drive financial strategy and commercial decision-making
Manage audit processes and compliance requirements
Implement strong financial controls and governance frameworks
Partner with senior leadership across operational teams
Manage and mentor finance, payroll and administration staff
Provide financial insights to support business growth
About You
CA / CPA qualified
Proven experience as Financial Controller or similar senior finance role
Strong leadership and team management capability
Commercial mindset with strategic thinking ability
Experience managing reporting, budgets and forecasting
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
