advocate's role is to help people achieve their goals by defending or aiding them. Advocates can work in many areas, including civil, educational, domestic, and legal sectors. Their responsibilities may vary depending on the industry and company, but they generally include: Communicating with clients Advocates answer questions, consult with clients about their goals, and provide explanations to clients and staff. They also represent clients' interests when speaking to others. Finding solutions Advocates help clients find solutions to their problems, whether that's by developing a course of action or devising solutions to resolve issues. They may also create memos or reports for court hearings and sentencing. Providing support Advocates may provide emotional and mental support to keep clients encouraged. They may also need to assist clients in a crisis and recognize signs of trauma and abuse. Maintaining documentation Advocates may maintain and review records and documentation on behalf of clients. This can help them provide relevant information for the issue at hand. Advising on legal matters Advocates may advise clients on legal matters, such as matrimonial and family law, trusts and estates, regulatory matters, property transactions, and commercial and business law. They may also represent clients in civil and criminal courts. Advocates often need to be compassionate, trustworthy, and excellent communicators and problem solvers. They may also need to collaborate with other departments or organizations to resolve issues
