D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Region Paralegal. The right candidate will support the Region Counsel in managing responsibilities of Legal Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assist the Region Counsel in managing regional litigation. Prepare and maintain database of Region litigation matters; update daily
• Manage the litigation calendar and litigation case files
• Under the guidance of Region Counsel, review marketing programs and materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Prepare and maintain contractor’s licenses and real estate licenses for division offices
• Prepare and maintain lease database for regional and division offices
• Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
• Ability to work overtime
• Ability to travel overnight
• Assist the Region Counsel with special projects, responding to discovery requests, and addressing homeowner and warranty requests
• Process Fictitious Business Name Statements for division offices on an as-needed basis
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or six or more years of related experience and/or training
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
• Proficiency with MS Office and email
• Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
• The noise level is generally moderate
