Job description, work day and responsibilities
Position Summary: Provide nursing care to patients with vascular procedures within the vascular center. As a member of our team, you will interact with patients, physicians and dialysis facilities as part of our community educational program and also participate in other educational outreach initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques
• Prepares equipment which includes cleaning and sterilizing instruments, maintain inventory of medical supplies
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient
• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents
• Assess and triage of patients into the center
• Monitor patients during procedures, operating a C-Arm (within the scope of practice)
• Scrub in for interventional procedures
• Provide support to the clinical team during pre and post procedure activities
• Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
• Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient
• Participate in general center operations
• Qualifications:
• Minimum two years experience in dialysis, interventional radiology, special procedures
• Knowledge of sterile technique
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Education/Experience:
Bachelor degree or university program certificate; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Certificates and Licenses: Current State of Georgia RN License
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42.52 - $51.20 per hour
