We are a U.S.-based CPA firm building a practical AI and automation system to improve tax preparation, document organization, review workflows, and internal efficiency. We are looking for a sharp, dependable remote engineer in India who can help us build and refine real-world automation tools.
This is not a purely academic or corporate software role. We need someone who can take messy real-life office workflows, understand the problem, and build useful systems that actually work.
You will help us improve:
document intake and folder organization
Google Drive automation
Python scripts for file classification and routing
AI-assisted document processing workflows
internal review pipelines for tax and accounting operations
integrations with APIs and cloud tools
debugging, cleanup, and ongoing refinement of scripts
What we are looking for
Strong Python skills
Experience with automation and workflow scripting
Comfortable working with files, folders, naming conventions, and document pipelines
Experience with APIs such as Google Drive, Gmail, or similar
Able to debug and improve existing code, not just write from scratch
Good judgment and ability to work independently
Clear written communication
Reliable internet and ability to work remotely with a U.S. team
Helpful if you also know
Google Workspace APIs
OCR / AI document extraction workflows
JSON, CSV, Excel, and document generation
Windows and Ubuntu environments
GitHub / version control
basic understanding of business process automation
experience working with accounting, tax, legal, or document-heavy workflows
What kind of person fits this role
We are looking for someone practical, patient, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in building systems that bring order to messy workflows. You should be comfortable improving scripts step by step as new real-world scenarios come up.
Work arrangement
Remote from India
Flexible hours, but some overlap with U.S. Eastern time is preferred
Part-time initially, with opportunity to expand based on performance
Long-term relationship preferred over short freelance work
