The Reprographic Administrator provides an efficient design, copy and print service to meet training, operational, investigative, evidential and prosecution requirements of the New Zealand Police. Thereby contributing to the investigation and resolution of crime and crashes.

Primarily this job is about creating prosecution court books to support police and crown cases. Court books may be to support minor offences but also include major crime events and crashes.

There is also a wide variety of other print work including other booklets up to wide format printing.

The Reprographic Administrator will work within a small efficient team within an operational policing environment at Piki Ki Te Ao, Otahuhu, Auckland.

Key Accountabilities:

Provide a copy, scan and print service to support operational policing, police training and police prosecutions.
Work with a variety of requests for document creation and printing and prioritise those by urgency and importance.
Work with a variety of source image and other digital files as evidence for investigation and prosecution and adopt a workflow that maintains organisation of this evidence and appropriately deals with corrections, improvements and censoring.
Adopt an innovative and resourceful approach to dealing with layout and print requests. Utilise existing resources to their full potential.
Research and recommend new resources for improved efficiency and service.

Have a strong knowledge and capability using desktop publishing software including (but not exclusive to) Adobe products: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Microsoft Word, Excel and other software as provided.
A high level of computer literacy. Competent with Microsoft windows computer operating systems.
Have a strong knowledge and capability using various printer technology including production press printers and large format printers and their associated software.
Have a strong knowledge and capability using a variety of other print office machines and devices for the print, bind, cut and laminating of a variety of documents.
Have strong time management skills.
Commitment and interest in relevant emerging technologies.
Strong customer service skills including the identification of customer needs and follow up to ensure customer commitments have been met.
Have good communication skills, verbal and written.

Be aware that the position will entail exposure to images and written material of an explicit, graphic, sensitive and/or distressing nature as part of creating documents for the investigation and prosecution of various disturbing offences.

Utu a-tau | Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $58,973 and $60,639 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
