The Geriatric Mental Health Services (GMHS) team at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is at the forefront of advancing mental health care for older adults. We specialize in inter-professional assessment, treatment, consultation, and follow-up services tailored to the unique needs of this population. GMHS is driven by a robust research program focused on understanding the variability in treatment responses among older adults. By exploring innovative approaches with medications and non-pharmacological treatments, we aim to enhance therapeutic outcomes and minimize adverse effects in late-life mental health care.

We are seeking two (2) enthusiastic and skilled Research Analysts to join our team for a full-time, contract (1 year). In this dynamic role, you will play a key part in advancing cutting-edge research that makes a tangible difference in the lives of older adults living with cognitive and mental illness. You will be contributing to a body of work that does not just advance scientific knowledge but also shapes the care that people receive during some of the most vulnerable stages of their lives. The candidate will be responsible for a range of activities that include, but are not limited to:

Leading recruitment, screening, and consenting of research participants.
Scheduling and following up with participants, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience.
Assisting participants with procedures such as imaging scans or clinical lab visits.
Maintaining and updating research databases and study documentation.
Liaising with psychiatrists, care providers, and patients’ families to facilitate research activities.
Creating study tools and regulatory submissions, ensuring compliance with ethics and safety protocols.
Supporting administrative tasks such as regulatory documentation and study amendments.
Administering and scoring neuropsychological tests, structured interviews, and clinical scales focused on older adults.
Providing regular project updates and contribute to study progress reports.
Preparing data for presentations, reports, and peer-reviewed publications.
Supporting other research activities and projects, as assigned.
This in-person role will be primarily located at the McCain Complex & Recovery Building (MCCR) at the Queen Street Site, and requires adherence to CAMH's privacy, safety, and operational policies.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess an Honours Bachelor Degree in psychology, or a health-related or social science discipline, combined with one (1) year of relevant experience.

In addition, the candidate will have:

Clear, compassionate communication skills to build trust with participants and collaborate effectively with the team.
Strong organizational skills to balance competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
An ability to adapt and thrive in diverse and collaborative work environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Access).
Experience with electronic data capture tools such as REDCap.
Strong research skills, including literature searches and database management.
Experience working with populations affected by cognitive impairment, dementia, or severe mental illness preferred.
Familiarity with administering and scoring neuropsychological and clinical assessments (e.g., SCID, MINI, MoCA, MMSE, DKEFS, RBANS, NPI, CGI) an asset.
Experience with research ethics and regulatory compliance (REB applications, study amendments) an asset.
