Pay: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour
Position : Restaurant Manger
Minimum Hours: 30 hours per week
Maximum Hours: 60 hours per week
Location : Wellington
Objective : Controls and organises the operations of a cafe/restaurant to provide dining and catering services at Rangoli Indian Restaurant—overseeing staff, compliance, purchasing, and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, direct, and coordinate daily operations of the restaurants to deliver excellent customer service.
Manage staffing levels, hire/fire, train team members, and oversee performance to ensure a motivated, efficient team.
Monitor and manage food and beverage quality, stock levels, and presentation standards.
Handle supplier relationships and ordering, ensuring cost-effective inventory management.
Maintain financial records including budgets, sales, and expenditure.
Implement health and safety, food hygiene, and customer service standards in accordance with legal and company requirements.
Plan menus in collaboration with chefs and monitor portion control and waste management.
Address customer inquiries and complaints in a timely, professional manner.
Conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service
Promote the café through social media and community engagement initiatives.
May take reservations, greet guests and assist in taking orders.
Qualifications & Experience:
At least NZQF Diploma (Level 4) or equivalent or higher, OR Minimum of 1 year’ experience in a relevant role.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations, and health & safety standards.
Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and analyze financial reports.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Experience in staff training and supervision.
