About the Role


The Role

In this dynamic role, you’ll be more than a Risk Manager – you’ll be a strategic partner propelling Endeavour forward! Imagine being the key risk advisor for a diverse portfolio of business areas, collaborating directly with Executive Leadership to shape our future and cultivate a robust risk and compliance culture across the entire organization.

Your portfolio will feature the iconic ALH hotels business, a market leader in hospitality with over 350 venues in Australia. This is not just another assignment! You'll tackle a unique risk profile that blends significant regulatory compliance challenges with complex operational risks. And here's the best part: ALH has recently welcomed new leadership, giving you the chance to drive fresh perspectives and make a lasting impact from day one.

This is a pivotal position within our growing Risk and Compliance function (Line 2). You'll dive into a wide range of risk management activities across Endeavour, collaborating with diverse stakeholders and gaining direct exposure to our Executive Leadership. Get ready to build deep business understanding, influence our strategic direction, and empower our business to thrive while ensuring responsible risk management.

In this role, you won't just maintain the status quo. You'll actively contribute to our risk management strategy and objectives, championing innovation and driving real change that delivers meaningful results for our team, stakeholders, customers, and communities.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

Lead the charge in embedding risk management into our culture, taking ownership of risk identification, assessment, and reporting. You'll be facilitating dynamic workshops at all levels of the organization, including the Executive Leadership team.
Pioneer improvements to risk management, compliance, and assurance frameworks alongside our talented Line 2 Risk & Compliance team.
Be a catalyst for change, finding innovative ways to make risk management resonate across the business.
Deliver impactful reports to stakeholders, including the Board and Executive management.
Become a trusted advisor and the go-to leader for risk management within your portfolio, especially ALH hotels.
Forge strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, becoming an expert on our business strategy and highlighting the risk implications of decisions.
Inspire risk awareness and drive engagement across the organization using your expertise and influence, supported by the wider team.
Contribute to the growth of our dynamic Risk & Compliance team and their key deliverables.
Share your brilliance, spreading best practices and accelerating risk management capability building at all levels of the business.
Shape the future of risk, compliance, and assurance policies, frameworks, and procedures.

What do we need from you


Now let’s talk about you:

8 years of experience working in a risk, compliance or assurance role in a consulting/advisory firm or established ASX listed corporate function
OR

10 years of blended retail/customer-facing business operational/functional management experience with significant involvement in risk/compliance/assurance management as part of those roles.
Technical skills in / knowledge of risk management fundamentals including risk and controls assessment, business process reviews and assurance methodologies and processes.
Experience preparing internal reports for Board and senior management.
Tertiary qualification in business/commerce or other relevant discipline
Excellent stakeholder management skills and an open, inquisitive, and proactive attitude
toward understanding, learning, and problem-solving
Experience in gaming operations, or a highly regulated industry, would be preferable but is not essential.
