Job Description
Do you want to help bridge the gap between employers and jobseekers in rural South Carolina?
The Rural Outreach Specialist reports to Workforce and Economic Development Division in the Central Region. This position will deliver a broad range of services to assist individuals in resolving barriers to employment and increase skills in order to obtain or maintain employment. The Rural Outreach Specialist focuses on customers and locations in rural areas within mainly Tier III and Tier IV Counties in South Carolina. Educates individuals regarding DEW programs, policies, and services. The selected individual will also provide assistance with services as needed within an SC Works Center.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR a high school diploma and four (4) years of experience working and building relationships with community-based organizations, rural communities, and/or state organizations may substitute for the required bachelor’s degree.
Additional Requirements
Position requires work on Saturdays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with at least three (3) years of experience providing client centered case management, counseling, rural area work, or related field. Experience in conducting outreach with target populations, building relationships with external and internal partners and stakeholders. Demonstrates experience working with customers.
