The role:
At YHA, we’re all about adventure, community, and unforgettable experiences, but safety is at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for a proactive WHS Specialist to join our team and own the safety and compliance space across our network of properties/hostels. This is a stand-alone role, supported by operations and our leadership team.
What you’ll get to do:
Lead the charge on safety culture: Develop and deliver engaging safety inductions and training for Property Managers across our network.
Be the go-to expert: Monitor incidents, investigate hazards, and recommend improvements that make a real difference.
Keep us compliant and confident: Oversee property compliance schedules, audits, and contractor certifications (including insurances).
Stay ahead of the game: Update WHS policies, maintain emergency procedures, and coordinate inspections and drills.
Coach and influence: Support our managers and supervisors to ensure our safety culture is embed into everyday operations.
