Job Description
Sancon Commissioning Inc. is seeking an experienced Safety Professional to support our Houston office and U.S.-based project operations. This role will provide both office-based and field-based Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) support across multiple commissioning projects throughout the United States.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in industrial environments, supporting live operating facilities, and travelling to various project sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide field-level HSE support on commissioning projects
• Develop, review, and implement Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safe Work Practices (SWPs), and site-specific safety plans
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and compliance reviews
• Lead incident investigations and perform root cause analysis
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety orientations
• Track and report leading and lagging safety indicators (e.g., observations, near misses, TRIF)
• Support client safety meetings and interface with client HSE representatives
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and applicable state requirements
• Assist with Workers’ Compensation reporting and documentation as required
• Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting records
• Willingness to support operations by assisting with equipment and PPE inventory verification, coordinating pickup and delivery of tools or materials, and completing other operational or administrative tasks required to support project execution.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certifications
• Degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
• CSP (Certified Safety Professional) designation issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals is considered a strong asset
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction minimum (OSHA 500/510 preferred)
• Current First Aid / CPR certification
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in industrial construction, energy, oil & gas, utilities, or commissioning/start-up environments
• Experience working in operating facilities and high-risk industrial settings
• Strong knowledge of LOTO, confined space entry, working at heights, permitting, and energized electrical work controls
• Experience supporting audits and compliance networks (e.g., ISNetworld, Veriforce)
Technical Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• Experience using digital safety or project management platforms
• Strong reporting and documentation capabilities
Travel Requirements
• Must be willing and able to travel to project sites across the United States
• Ability to work rotational or extended site schedules as required
• Valid driver’s license and ability to access remote industrial job sites

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
