Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sales Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in booking, customer NDC (Net Delivery Cost), invoicing, GST compliance, receivables management, and general accounting principles. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Booking & Invoicing:
• Manage and record sales bookings accurately and timely in the accounting system.
• Prepare and issue invoices to customers based on sales agreements and company policies.
• Verify and reconcile sales orders with booking records.
2. Customer NDC Management:
• Ensure accurate calculation and application of Net Delivery Cost (NDC) for customer transactions.
• Maintain up-to-date NDC records and resolve any discrepancies.
3. GST Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with Goods and Services Tax (GST) regulations.
• Prepare and file GST returns accurately and timely.
• Reconcile GST accounts and address any issues related to GST.
4. Receivables Management:
• Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
• Perform regular aging analysis and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Resolve any billing or payment disputes in coordination with the sales and customer service teams.
5. General Accounting:
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports related to sales performance and receivables.
• Support the Finance Manager in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Sales Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
• In-depth understanding of GST regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
• Experience in a sales-driven industry.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
