About the role
The City of Coffs Harbour is seeking an experienced engineering professional to guide our Asset Services Team. The successful candidate will foster a customer-focused culture and drive the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects that serve our vibrant community through the provision of survey and design services, environmental approvals and asset support services
Reporting to the Director of City Infrastructure, you will lead four direct reports in this crucial role, providing expertise in all aspects of survey and design, environmental protection and asset management.
Responsibilities include chairing the Asset Management Steering Committee, reviewing Part 5 environmental approvals, providing professional engineering advice in the design and certification of civil infrastructure as well as leading a motivated and technically skilled team.
You will also have demonstrated ability in assessing the potential impacts of decisions on our environment and community, taking decisive action to mitigate risks for a sustainable future.
Other responsibilities include:
Contribute to the leadership of the City Infrastructure Directorate and Senior Leadership Team, including championing a values-based culture of service delivery
Ensure timely and cost effective, delivery of surveys, designs, technical drawings, specifications, environmental assessments, and documentation for infrastructure projects.
Navigate environmental laws and processes to safeguard against serious or irreversible impacts on our environment.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Design, Asset Management or a related local government discipline and significant applicable experience
Demonstrated relevant leadership experience at a similar level.
Current Class C Drivers Licence.
Desirable
Post Graduate qualifications in a relevant field
Eligibility for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
