Job Title: Senior Accountant – Full Time
Department: Finance & Accounts
Location: 704, Rajhans Montessa, Dumas Road, Surat
Reports To: Finance Manager / Head of Finance

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting functions and support financial reporting for an engineering company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, project-based costing, and financial analysis, with the ability to ensure accurate and timely financial records in line with statutory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting & Financial Reporting:
Maintain accurate books of accounts including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and journal entries.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Ensure proper reconciliation of accounts including bank, vendor, and intercompany balances.
Project & Cost Accounting:
Track project revenues, costs, and profitability; work closely with project managers to ensure proper revenue recognition and expense allocation.
Monitor project budgets and highlight variances for corrective action.
Maintain job costing records and support billing, invoicing, and milestone tracking.
Compliance & Audit:
Ensure compliance with all tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements (GST, TDS, income tax, etc.).
Coordinate with external auditors during internal and statutory audits; prepare required schedules and documentation.
Maintain compliance with internal controls and assist in periodic reviews.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
Monitor cash flows, fund positions, and manage payments to vendors, consultants, and subcontractors.
Support forecasting and working capital management.
ERP & Process Improvement:
Work with ERP systems for accounting and project tracking (SAP, Tally, Oracle, etc.).
Contribute to improving financial processes, automation, and reporting efficiencies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
CA Inter / CMA Inter / CPA / or equivalent certification preferred (full CA is a plus).
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in accounting, preferably in an engineering, construction, or project-driven organization.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and compliance.
Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting software and Excel-based reporting tools.
