Job Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the accounting processes for the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and handling all financial operations. This role specifically requires experience in handling accounting and tax matters related to the jewelry industry, along with strong knowledge of Tally, GST filing, and TDS filing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Operations: Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- GST Filing: Ensure accurate GST returns are filed, and maintain up-to-date records of GST compliance. Handle GST-related reconciliations, audits, and documentation.
- TDS Filing: Prepare and file TDS returns, ensure timely payments of TDS, and maintain compliance with income tax regulations.
- Jewelry Industry Accounting: Handle industry-specific financial tasks, such as managing inventory, raw materials, finished goods, and ensuring proper cost accounting related to manufacturing and selling jewelry.
- Financial Statements: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements and financial accounts.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure timely filing of all statutory taxes, including GST, TDS, and other tax-related filings.
- Audit Coordination: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial data, reports, and documentation.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational requirements.
- Vendor & Customer Coordination: Work closely with vendors and customers to ensure smooth financial transactions, including payment processing, invoicing, and credit management.
- Reporting & Analysis: Provide financial reports and insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Team Collaboration: Work with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations and resolve any discrepancies in financial records.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA Inter or equivalent qualification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 4+ years of experience in accounting, with specific expertise in the jewelry or diamond industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Tally (or similar accounting software).
- Strong knowledge of GST filing, TDS filing, and other statutory compliance specific to the jewelry industry.
- Familiarity with inventory management in the jewelry business, including raw material and finished goods tracking.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Industry-Specific Knowledge: Experience handling accounting for jewelry or diamond manufacturing, dealing with sales tax, VAT, excise duties, and other related matters.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with industry standards.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to process and interpret complex financial data.
