Spring Oak Management is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to join our growing finance team. This role provides hands-on support to the Vice President of Finance in managing the full accounting cycle for a diverse real estate portfolio that includes assisted living communities, multifamily housing, and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, a passion for accuracy, and a proactive mindset to streamline processes, deliver actionable insights, and enhance financial performance. This position reports to the Vice President of Finance.
The Ideal Candidate:
Proficient in advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, macros)
Experience using financial systems such as Sage Intacct
Strong analytical and organizational abilities
Excellent written communication skills
Detail-oriented with a drive to improve processes and systems
About Us:
Spring Oak Management owns and operates senior living communities throughout the East Coast under the Spring Oak Senior Living brand. Our corporate office supports community operations with financial, clinical, and administrative leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Post daily accounting entries including journal entries, accruals, distributions, and payroll imports
Perform monthly payroll accruals based on staffing levels and PTO trends
Analyze census and occupancy data to support accurate revenue reporting
Reconcile balance sheet accounts (cash, AR, AP, intercompany, accruals)
Track intercompany allocations and reconcile transactions
Manage credit card charge imports, audits, and reconciliations
Support annual budgeting and forecasting for all communities
Monitor expenses and identify discrepancies or trends for correction
Engage with community teams to address labor and cost variances
Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and dashboards
Assist with external/internal audits and tax filing preparation
File vendor 1099s and maintain vendor compliance
Monitor and track actual vs. forecasted cash flows
Recommend process improvements and support system integrations
Assist with preparation of tax returns, extensions, and estimates (Preferred but not required)

Perform other accounting or reporting duties as assigned by the Vice President of Finance
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
3–7 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, preferably in real estate or healthcare
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficient in advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, macros)
Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP software
Familiarity with HUD reporting and compliance (preferred)
Prior experience with tax return preparation (preferred)
