SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Location: Mumbai
Type: Full-Time

Where do you come in:
We are looking for an Accountant to oversee all financial activities, including fixed payments and variable expenditure, as well as bank deposits and budgeting. Auditing financial documentation and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and computing tax payments and returns are all tasks of accountants. Ultimately, the accountant will provide us with accurate quantitative information on the financial position, liquidity, and cash flows of our business while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations.
Key responsibilities that you will have:
• Maintain control over all accounting transactions.
• Timely publication of financial statements is essential. Close the books on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Accounts payable and receivable must be reconciled.
• Knowledge of FCRA Accounting.
• Ensure that bank payments are made on schedule.
• Financial transactions and records should be audited.
• Maintain financial data confidentiality and, if necessary, perform database backups.
• Financial policies and rules must be followed.
• Assist in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of accounting policies, and processes and ensure continual improvement.
• Prepare and Analyse Management Information Systems (MIS) reports supporting key decisions. (Donor-wise)
• Do various other accounting activities related to TDS, GST, etc.
• Ensure accuracy in financial reports in formats required by the Board members
• Prepare Donor reports as per donor timelines
• Liaise with bankers and handle any banking-related issues, as required.
• Assist in compiling information during income tax assessment scrutiny.
• Keep abreast of the latest development in financial regulations as well as NGO sector-specific rules and regulations.
• Ensure timely compliance with all statutory requirements
Key skills that we are looking for:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Required skills and abilities
• Sound accounting and bookkeeping knowledge.
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in excel.
• Ability to analyze financial information effectively.
• Proficiency in Tally accounting system +.1
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
• Ability to self-initiate, problem-solve and make decisions independently.
• Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural team.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Working experience as an accountant will be advantageous.
• Excellent understanding of accounting rules and processes, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
