Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records, and providing financial analysis and reporting to management. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in accounting, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of financial regulations and reporting standards.
Duties:
· Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including month-end and year-end close processes.
· Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles.
· Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
· Monitor and ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts and reconcile discrepancies.
· Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
· Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
· Maintain and improve internal controls and processes.
· Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during audits.
· Provide support and guidance to junior staff as needed.
· Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
Skills:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
· 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting position.
· Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books) and MS Office, especially Excel.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Prior experience in managing a team is a plus.
