About Us: Guardian Bikes is a dynamic mid-stage startup in the process of rapidly scaling the first vertically integrated bike company in the United States. All of our bikes are sold on guardianbikes.com and ship from our Indiana factory floor to our customer’s doors. We’re committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction in the bike industry. We made the transition to USA manufacturing one year ago and established a facility in Seymour, Indiana.
About this role: We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, detailed oriented and positive on-site Sr Accountant. This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks related to the month-end close, financial statement preparation, inventory management, fixed assets, intellectual property, prepaids, equity, and cash flow management. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and supports the organization’s financial health through diligent cash flow monitoring and cost-saving initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
• Complete journal entries for depreciation, accruals, and other necessary adjustments.
• Maintain the Capital WIP Account, transitioning projects and equipment into service/depreciation schedules as dictated by Senior Management.
• Close the general ledger accurately and on time.
• Prepare the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
• Ensure all financial statements are compliant with GAAP.
• Review inventory loss for abnormalities and communicate findings to Senior Management.
• Oversee the review and posting of all accounts payable and revenue transactions and assist when necessary.
• Monitor daily cash flow and liquidity to ensure sufficient funds for operations.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly cash projections.
• Oversee and approve the posting of general ledger, revenue, payroll, accounts payable, and banking transactions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Recognize, investigate, and implement cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist in shaping the organization’s accounting and financial policies and procedures.
• Compile monthly and year-end documents for balance sheets, income statements, cash flow analysis, and budget variances.
• Recommend and assist in creating annual budgets.
• Manage the monthly and year-end processes, collaborating with auditors and outside financial institutions.
• Setting and monitoring standard costs, efficiency rates, waste factors and actual versus standard cost variance analysis
• Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
• 3-5 Years of relevant experience
• Computer proficient in an ERP environment, along with spreadsheet and report writing tools preferred.
• Must be able to creatively solve problems and facilitate others to do the same.
• Must be a confident and adept decision-maker and capable of making decisions with time and information constraints.
• The ability to quantify results, identify new opportunities, adapt to change, and interface with all levels of management on a continual basis is required.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with people of various educational and technical backgrounds, both inside and outside the company.
• Must be innovative and logical in problem solving skills and able to recommend resolution to issues both internally and with customers and vendors.
• Individual will be required to work in both plant and office environment. Hybrid work from home schedule is acceptable after the role is built out and being managed successfully on site.
