What You Will be Doing:
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant will play an integral role in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives within AVI's Corporate Accounting department. The ideal candidate is extremely detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of prioritizing workload throughout the month to ensure deadlines are met, and able to interact with all levels of AVI's workforce.
Job Requirements:
• Preparation and review of journal entries, ensuring a timely and accurate month-end close
• Preparation and review of balance sheet account reconciliations, including reviewing subledger detail and resolving reconciling items and other issues in a timely manner
• Maintain and improve AVI's ASC 842 lease accounting, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation, and ongoing maintenance of lease accounting software
• Assist with preparation of year-end audit schedules along and along with income tax requests and schedules
• Ensure adequate internal controls exist in accounting processes and lead initiatives to document and improve internal controls in those processes
• Assist with onboarding acquisitions including purchase accounting and ERP integrations
• Partner with leadership on accounting process improvements and execution of strategic initiatives, including efficiency enhancements and automation within the accounting department
• Reconcile and post payroll runs to the general ledger
• Learn, backup, and document other duties within the accounting department
• Assist leadership in leading special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum of three years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or internal audit
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment meeting monthly close and reporting deadlines
• Experience with Microsoft programs with an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Committed, enthusiastic, team player who has a passion for rolling up their sleeves and digging into the details
Preferred Qualifications:
• Licensed CPA or CPA eligible
• Master's degree in accounting, business, or a related field
• Public accounting experience
• Project accounting experience
• Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP
• Experience with ERP systems and/or Power BI
