Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, tax compliance, payroll management, and invoicing. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payment transactions.
- Handle GST (Goods and Services Tax) compliance, including preparation and filing of GST returns.
- Manage TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) compliance, including calculation, deduction, and filing of TDS returns.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculation of salaries, benefits, and deductions, and timely disbursement of payroll.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data, and produce financial reports or statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Provide support and guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting regulations.
- Handle export documentation, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and timely submission of necessary paperwork.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) is an added advantage.
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on GST, TDS, payroll, and invoicing.
