Position Overview
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role at Alpha Adroit and its associated companies, overseeing various accounting functions and providing specialized business consultation and strategy services. Your responsibilities will span financial accounting, management accounting, business consultation, and audit/review services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in catering to the diverse needs of corporations. Experience with personal accounting for business owners is considered a valuable asset.
Responsibilities
• Perform financial accounting and management accounting for diverse needs
• Working with various accounting and bookkeeping software
• Provide business consultation services, including business planning and startup/reorganization assistance
• Conduct financial analysis and assist in the corporation's annual return filing
• Support Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and provide CFO services as needed
• Lead business strategy initiatives, including business valuation, estate and succession planning, and merger and acquisition consultation
• Audit and review services, ensuring tax compliance and adherence to regulatory and corporate policies and procedure
• Provide consultation and support for government grants, funding, SRED, and charity contributions
Qualifications
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in Canada
• Preferably 10+ years of progressive experience in diverse accounting roles, particularly public accounting firms
• Proven expertise in financial accounting, management accounting, and business consultation
• Familiarity with small businesses, large enterprises, non-profit organizations, and international business accounting
• Experience in business strategy, including business valuation, mergers and acquisitions consultation
• Strong background in forensic accounting, loss assessment, and anomaly detection
• Extensive experience in audit and review services, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and corporate policies
• Experience with personal accounting for business owners is considered a valuable asset.
• Experience acting as CFO, controller, or other corporate managerial roles is considered an asset. Acting CFO of multiple companies simultaneously is regarded as an asset.
• Experience with large public accounting firms is considered an asset.
• Previous SRED application experience is regarded as an asset.
• Previous government grant application experience is viewed as an asset.
• Previous Trustee experience is considered an asset
• Prior startup experience is considered an asset.
• Previous expert witness and forensic accounting experience is considered an asset.
• Experience with accounting for professionals and high net worth individuals is considered an asset.
