Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing financial reports, managing general ledger entries, and supporting audits and budgeting processes. Key Responsibilities:
Manage general ledger functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closings.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and internal policies.
Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Maintain and improve accounting systems and procedures.
Oversee accounts payable/receivable and payroll accounting as needed.
Mentor and review work of junior accounting staff.
Liaise with external vendors, tax consultants, and financial institutions.
Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and legislation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA preferred).
5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, NetSuite).
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling).
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
