Senior Accountant, Operations located in Woodland Hills, CA

Join the industry leader and perform accounting functions for Silgan. Complete various daily, weekly and monthly tasks including freight processing, metal price variance analysis, vouchering of metal receipts, and processing of mill claims. What you'll do here:
Ensure timely and accurate accounting for metal and freight related activities throughout the month end close cycle, including but not limited to metal price variance analysis, freight processing, vouchering of metal receipts (including outside processors) and processing of mill and other vendor claims.
Provide support to assigned plant controllers, enforcing proper accounting policies and procedures, analyzing plant financial reports and investigating variances if necessary.
Support monthly bridge analysis/comments for operation results and assist with monthly forecast, quarterly BOD slides and annual budget.
Handle ad hoc cost accounting assignments and projects.
We need you to have:
Bachelors degree in Accounting
3+ years of experience in General Accounting, account reconciliation and analysis, experience in manufacturing or consumer goods industry strongly preferred
Intermediate MS Excel skills to prepare account analysis
Knowledge of manufacturing, cost and general accounting concepts and principles
