We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity in Waterloo, Iowa, for a Senior Accountant. The successful candidate will join our team in the finance industry, playing a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. This role involves a range of responsibilities, from preparing financial statements to conducting forecasting and budgeting.
Responsibilities
• Prepare, analyze, and ensure the accuracy of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Lead the planning and execution of financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support business planning.
• Deliver timely and accurate financial reports to management to inform decision-making.
• Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
• Reconcile various financial records such as bank accounts and credit card statements.
• Comply with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations to maintain financial integrity.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Prepare and post journal entries and adjustments as necessary to maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with tax preparation and compliance, collaborating with external tax advisors as needed.
• Facilitate yearly audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.
• Participate in the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and tools.
• Resolve payroll issues, prepare payroll taxes and reporting, and implement new practices and procedures.
• Administer the employee benefits program.
• Communicate with the public, vendors, leadership team, and coworkers in a professional manner.
• Oversee the purchasing of office supplies and the maintenance of minor office equipment.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Ability to perform various Accounting Functions
• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Understanding of Accounting cycle and Accounting Entries
• Proficiency in Accounting operations and Accounting procedures
• Knowledge in Asset Accounting and Fixed Asset Accounting
• Experience in Full Cycle Accounting and General Accounting
• Understanding of Finance and Operations Finance
• Skills in Asset Management and understanding of Depreciation
