A bit about your role
The Senior Advisor, Government Relations role sits within the national Corporate Affairs team at nbn. The purpose of the role is to lead and manage engagements between nbn and Sherholder Ministers, Members of Parliament, Senators and associated stakeholders. The Senior Advisor is accountable for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with Shareholder Ministers and offices and Shareholder departments and they must establish, maintain and leverage effective relationships with key internal business partners within nbn as well as understand the policy environment to achieve nbn’s purpose to lift the digital capability of Australia.
Reporting to the General Manager, Government Relations, the role is responsible for the development and successful delivery of the engagement plan, Government Relations strategies and Company priorities. They will, with the support of the General Manager, Government Relations, identify and develop key strategic initiatives, lead certain nbn projects, and manage the framework for relationships with the Federal Government on a day-to-day basis.
A bit about you
If this role sounds like you it is likely you will have experience in a community engagement or ministerial office role or in a similar government or corporate government engagement role with demonstrated experience working with high level federal or state government stakeholders, including ministerial offices or senior departmental officials, and ability to confidently and professionally engage with and present to government and business audiences. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability and experience of influencing and responding to a range of stakeholders at all levels.
