Senior Building Assessment Officer - North
Clerk Grade: +/10

Location: Newcastle (Flexible work arrangements available)
Salary: $125,6+3 - $138,510 + Super
About the role:
You will lead the assessment of damage to surface infrastructure associated with coal mine subsidence, project and contract management of rectification work, and the assessment of surface development risk to support customer service orientated objectives under the Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation Act 2017.
The team provides expert advice to property owners, government departments, authorities, local councils, community organisations and industries within Mine Subsidence Districts, and throughout NSW.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Strong leadership skills, driving a sense of accountability and performance among the team
Establishing and creating rapport with stakeholders to provide building advice
Experience in reading and interpreting construction and engineering plans
Experience in construction methodology, building standards and practices, and project and contract management
Excellent communication, verbal and written skills are essential
Experience in managing and overseeing all elements of project planning and development
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, construction, or architecture
Relevant experience in building assessment, construction methodology, and project management
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
