We're looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant team member to work with us in the Planning, Cost accounting, and analysis function at Boyd. This role will report to our and contribute to Boyd's success by helping build the foundations for our Finance team. Senior Cost Accountant:
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for performing professional-level general accounting and reporting duties as part of the Cost Accounting team.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for month-end close processes and assist with the preparation of financial statements for Internal and external reporting
· Develop and analyze detailed spreadsheets to identify trends and develop forecasts
· Receivable and payables aging analysis and clearing of aged items post-GL reconciliations.
· Forecasting of Revenue and profits by collaborating with different segments and reporting it to the Business heads.
· Preparation of reconciliations in the period close and reporting them to the process leads.
• Participate in the month-end close processes by performing activities that include but are not limited to preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries.
• Analyse past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations
• for improvements
• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
· Performing Inventory reconciliation at the end of every fiscal period and presenting it to the site along with trend analysis
· Daily/ weekly/ monthly Cost Reporting (Variance Report)
· Providing walkthroughs and addressing the queries from both Internal and external auditors.
• Bank reconciliations and Other BS Reconciliations monthly
• Assist with various ad-hoc requests for management reporting purposes
• Work with External Auditors during interim or annual audit requests
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related major.
· 6-10 years of professional-level accounting research, analysis, reconciliation, and financial and accounting reporting work
· System savvy with strong excel skill sets
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong organizational and time management skills allowing you to manage multiple projects and deadlines
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required as is the ability to research issues, prepare evaluations on problems and recommend viable solutions.
· Must be able to work in a deadline-driven high volume atmosphere
· Ability to work independently on accounting projects with minimal direction and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
