Job Description
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Cost Controller to join out Power Projects team. This role will be directly reporting to the Head of Finance for Power Projects and will be based in our office in Milton, Brisbane on a permanent full-time basis.
This role will provide the senior management with insight into project performance and will escalate dissenting views on cost / project performance. The main objectives of the role will be to:
Support project managers with effective cost management and forecasting
Maintaining accurate time phased forecast-to-complete for projects
Identifying, understanding and managing cost variances against budget / forecast / expectations
Understanding key cost drivers and how they can be adjusted to optimise project outcomes
Support Project Management to understand the impact of change on forecast cost position in real time
What we are looking for
Minimum 5 years of experience in Cost Control roles, ideally in Power Projects but not essential
Advanced Excel is essential
This role requires knowledge of accounting concepts such as accrual accounting and revenue recognition
Strong commercial acumen – ability to read and understand contract documents
Knowledge of the construction industry
