Overview
This position, under the general direction of the Lead and / or Manager, Software Engineering, will be responsible for technical and development support for our award-winning K-12 software.
This role will implement, code, build, and test new features, maintain existing features, and develop reports that will include components, data models, customization and reporting features for our products.
Additionally, this position will gather and refine.
requirements, develop designs, implement, test and document solutions to produce the highest quality product and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Responsible for execution of day-to-day tasks related to monitoring and managing relational database management systems
• Performs root cause analysis on trended database incidents, performance tuning and major outages up through the application stack
• Develops automation that can trigger off a variety of industry standard monitoring tools to resolve common issues in the environment or maintain operating levels
• Contributes to the design of scaling the management of an enterprise database environment including high availability deployment, pluggable databases, encryption and more• Specifies proper types of files organization, indexing methods, and security procedures
• Advises project teams on the design of moderately complex databases
• Defines specialized aspects of user’s data base administration documentation
• Develops backup and archival policies and procedures
• Configures storage systems software to meet requirements
• Implements software solutions for performance enhancement, operator interface, and increased user capability
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Qualifications include :
6+ years’ experience as DBA
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,Information Systems, or equivalent degree
• Strong working knowledge of relational database management systems especially Postgres and MySQL or NoSQL (MongoDb, DynamoDB)
• Should have a good understanding of Oracle database architecture, database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, andsecurity.
• Should also have experience with Linux operating systems, as most Oracle Cloud deployments run on Linux.
• Oracle CDB and PDB working knowledge
• Working Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
• Strong working knowledge of AWS RDS and Aurora Technologies
• Familiarity with the functionality of Disaster Recovery
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong ability to handle a heavy workload with multiple projects and frequent interruptions.
• Strong ability to work in a changing, dynamic environment.
Oracle certifications : (Preferred)
The Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) and Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certifications are two popular certifications that demonstrate your proficiency in Oracle database administration.
Cloud experience :
• As an Oracle Cloud DBA, you will be working with cloud-based databases. Therefore, it is important to have experience with cloud technologies and an understanding of how cloud computing works
