Enterprise SharePoint Solutions Architect

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing a scalable document management system on Microsoft 365.
• Core Responsibilities:
• Design end-to-end architecture for an enterprise-scale Document Management Solution (DMS) including ingestion, metadata extraction, storage, retrieval and governance.
• Define site architecture, content types, metadata taxonomy, managed properties and hub site strategy to ensure optimal performance.
• Architect Active–Warm–Cold storage tiering models optimized for low-latency retrieval.
• Create scalable library-splitting and auto-archival patterns for libraries with large item volumes.
• Document Ingestion & Integration:
• Design multi-channel ingestion frameworks integrating various platforms, services and APIs.
• Develop connectors and middleware using Graph API, REST API, CSOM or Power Automate to facilitate seamless integration.
• Implement standardized library creation and document upload APIs without requiring separate Azure AD app registrations by consumers.
• Architect metadata auto-tagging solutions using Microsoft Syntex / SharePoint Premium or AI Builder to enhance information discovery.
• Develop mandatory metadata models and validation logic using SPFx, Power Automate or SharePoint rules to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Build metadata enrichment frameworks ensuring compliance with data limits and expectations.
• Search, Retrieval & Unified API Layer:
• Design unified API services for internal and external integrations to streamline data access and exchange.
• Configure advanced SharePoint search and Microsoft Search features, including result types, managed properties and metadata-driven queries.
• Lead the implementation of regional hub sites enabling cross-geo and cross-LOB search and discovery capabilities.
• Governance, Compliance & Security:
• Implement Microsoft Purview retention policies, sensitivity labels, DLP policies and compliance automation to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Define access control, external sharing policies, conditional access and B2B guest access models to protect sensitive data.
• Establish lifecycle workflows for review, approval, archival and deletion prevention to maintain data quality and security.
• Performance Engineering & Scalability:
• Design high-performance solutions handling massive content volumes while minimizing throttling and latency.
• Implement caching, pagination, batching and throttling mitigation for Graph API-based operations to ensure seamless user experiences.
• Ensure high availability, resilience and disaster recovery aspects of the DMS to guarantee business continuity.
• Documentation, Standards & Knowledge Management:
• Create architectural blueprints, integration diagrams, solution guidelines and operational runbooks to support knowledge sharing and reuse.
• Maintain and publish API documentation using Swagger or Postman to facilitate developer adoption.
• Enable Knowledge Base creation including FAQs, troubleshooting guides and Service Desk documentation to improve user engagement and support.
• Delivery Leadership & Collaboration:
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business SMEs, Engineering Leads and M365 Platform Teams to drive project success.
• Provide technical leadership, code review guidance and enforce best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Participate in release planning, CAB processes and technical governance forums to align with organizational goals.
