Gross salary range of $120k to $130K per annum + superannuation

About the role:
The Senior Financial Accountant is a key contributor to the City’s financial leadership, responsible for delivering accurate, high quality financial reporting and guiding the development of the annual budget. This role oversees the preparation of statutory financial statements, takes a lead role in audit coordination, and safeguards the integrity of the City’s accounting systems.
What you’ll bring to the role:
The ideal candidate will align with the City’s Values and be able to demonstrate the below competencies:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications in accounting and ideally membership of or progression towards a professional body.
Substantial experience in a senior financial / management accountant position, preferably in Local Government.
Highly developed knowledge of Accounting Standards and concepts.
Understanding of the Local Government Act and associated Financial Management Regulations.
Significant experience with large ERP or financial systems, such as Technology One.
Demonstrated experience or ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management in development of budgets and various financial reporting tasks.
Experience in staff supervision/guidance.
Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Pre-employment requirements:
Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
National Police Clearance (less than six months old).
Proof of right to work in Australia.
Pre-employment medical (arranged and paid for by the City).
