Job description
Job Title: Financial Controller for Property Portfolio
The company is seeking a skilled financial controller to manage the monthly management accounts preparation, business partnering and stakeholder communication, VAT returns, and property-focused financial analysis for a portfolio of properties.
Responsibilities:
• Monthly Management Accounts Preparation:
• Prepare and review the monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet for multiple properties.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency in the financial statements, in line with company accounting policies and procedures.
• Business Partnering & Stakeholder Communication:
• Collaborate with finance managers and operations teams to ensure the accuracy of monthly management accounts.
• Analyze financial results and variances, providing detailed explanations and addressing queries to enhance business understanding.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to clarify discrepancies and improve financial reporting processes.
• VAT Returns:
• Prepare and review VAT returns for the properties in compliance with local tax regulations.
• Property-Focused Financial Analysis:
• Support the financial management of a portfolio of properties, including a new fund with four properties and a Spanish property.
• Work closely with local teams to ensure that all financial and operational aspects are accurately reflected in the financial accounts.
Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in property or real estate accounting is preferred, but not a requirement.
• Intermediate Spanish proficiency (reading and writing) is essential, especially for the Spanish property.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, P&L, Balance Sheets, and VAT returns.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
