Opportunities for Senior Lawyers – Planning & Highways and Property
We are seeking experienced Senior Lawyers to join our dynamic legal team in the areas of Planning & Highways and Property.
Planning & Highways
You will lead the Council’s legal work in planning and highways, bringing substantial expertise as a Planning and Highways Lawyer. You will have significant experience in:
• Preparing for hearings and inquiries
• Handling planning appeals
• Leading on the completion of S106 Agreements
• Providing legal advice at Planning Committees
• Managing highways and associated agreements
• Overseeing planning enforcement
Property
This role requires an accomplished Property Solicitor with expertise in complex property matters. You will have substantial experience in areas such as:
• Leases, wayleaves, sales, and licences
• Disposals and acquisitions
• Compulsory purchase orders
• Overage and trust property
• Charity law obligations
• Development agreements
• Local authority governance and transactional requirements
Who we are looking for…
You will be a strong team player with a proven track record of delivering to deadlines, have effective communication skills and be able to use sound judgement to solve problems. You will be used to working in a busy pressurised environment and will enjoy a challenge. A commitment to delivering the best possible service for the benefit of our residents and clients, is required. You must have good IT literacy skills and an ability to use electronic publications for the purpose of legal work and research are critical.
