This is a permanent full-time appointment (76 hours per fortnight) for an experienced lawyer interested in applying their legal skills across a broad range of subject areas.
The successful applicant will predominantly be working on the following types of matters:
Contentious patient management issues, including for example, issues of consent, capacity, palliative care, guardianship/kinship and restraint;
Complex complaints and challenging discharge situations;
Medical treatment liability claims and coronial matters;
Commercial and property matters, including by:
advising on and/or drafting health-related contracts and agreements; and
resolving disputes relating to outsourced service delivery, property access and infrastructure projects; and
Data access and privacy.
Please note that legal advice for clinicians in relation to contentious patient management issues may be required from you on an urgent basis and, on occasions, after normal business hours.
